We will be the first to admit that we are lucky to live in San Diego. So when we get a little bit of ‘weather’ we start missing the sunshine that we’re used to in these parts! Today is one of those days–cold and drizzly, and it looks more like Seattle than San Diego! To fend off the rainy day blues, I’m posting some photos taken at Coronado Beach last month. Here’s to more sunshiny days in the very near future! Just for good measure, I’m throwing in a shot of my favorite model.

We weren’t late to the Facebook party, just quiet about it! As avid users of FB, we created our page a while back but didn’t upload much new content to it. In our spring cleaning, we decided to breathe new life back into the page and added a bunch of new galleries with photos not previously posted on our blog. We promise to do more of this, and as we reach milestone numbers of ‘Likes’ we will have giveaways, too! It’s just going to be one big party up in here! Springtime is here

Spring is here, and for us that means spring cleaning, too. With photography, it means cleaning out and backing up hard drives, cleaning up our files and archiving photos–an electronic spring cleaning, if you will. This spring we’re also getting ready for a renewal of our blog and of our website. We’re hard at work on it, but until the unveiling we’ll be going through the files that come up during our spring cleaning and share with you more of our favorite weddings and engagements of the past year. So in the last few posts you may have read my praises for Jonathan Canlas’ Film is Not Dead workshop. Well, starting today, Jon has made available Film Is Not Dead: A Digital Photographer’s Guide to Shooting Film. It’s a beautiful, 96-page book containing everything from information about cameras, film stocks and scanning to resources for developing, tips for shooting and answers to many questions about shooting film. Plus it’s got tons of Jon’s ridiculously beautiful photography–a great mix of his professional and personal work. For anyone, and I mean ANYone, who has any interest in shooting film, this is a great resource. I dare you not to be inspired to shoot more film after you read this.

Hope everyone is fully recovered from Thanksgiving! We’re definitely looking forward to the holidays and our last wedding of the year–in Mexico City! Until then we have more weddings to share, plus more photos from the Film is Not Dead workshop. By the way, you can go here to read my testimonial for this awesome workshop! And without further delay, here are more images from day 1. This is Elise, who is a photographer in her own right, and her husband Drew, who is a graphic designer and musician. We started off with sunshine, and then the clouds came, but I was able to get these shots before the real rain came. They were super troopers!

Hi again! Finally starting to catch up on wedding posts, slowly but surely. We had a fun engagement session with Andrea and Jon at Scripps Pier this summer, and their September wedding came up quick shortly after that! Their celebration was filled with family and lots of fun. Andrea comes from a family of all girls, and Jon comes from a family of all boys, so the joining of their families was awesome! Their ceremony and reception at Bali Hai Restaurant was emotional and a joy to witness.
