Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!  Thank you for sharing this last year with us, and we look forward to everything coming up!  We hope you enjoy the holiday season with all your loved ones.  Today, we celebrate with family and FOOD!  Here’s a little peek of what Dustin was working on this morning :) We wish this could be a ‘scratch ‘n’ sniff’ post!

Film Is Not Dead, Day 1

Continuing with more photos from FIND….The workshop was held in gorgeous Park City, Utah.  It was my and Dustin’s first visit ever to Park City, and it was gorgeous.  Plus it was off-season, and we felt almost as if we had the town to ourselves.  The mountains and vistas were nothing short of breathtaking.  Of course we love our home state of California, but we thoroughly appreciate all the new places we visit.  Just take a look at this view:

For the FIND Day 1 shoot, we were in Heber, just about a 20-minute drive from Park City.  This my favorite shot of another couple that modeled for us, Carlie and her boyfriend, Alex.  So much more to share, but I’ll try not to overwhelm you! :)

More to come

In my last post, I wrote just a little bit about a workshop called Film Is Not Dead, taught by Jonathan Canlas, a 100% film photographer based in Lehi, UT.  After hoarding my film in the weeks after, I finally sent my rolls to be developed and scanned at Richard Photo Lab.  In my next posts I’ll be sharing shots from those rolls.

When I look at these images, I think of sweet simplicity.  There’s a lightness to them that I don’t always get from digital.  It’s official; I’m hooked. So, as this post’s title says, there’s more to come, and from FIND and from my personal work, on film.  All images taken on a Canon EOS 3, using Fuji 400H film.

This is April and Spencer, who were married three days after this shoot:

Jordan and Sidney, another couple who graciously modeled for us on Day 1:
