A few more

Author: Elvee

Here are just a few more images from the sweetheart session on the Strip. I promise, we’ll definitely get to Dustin’s “Old Vegas” photo session this weekend. :) You won’t want to miss that, especially with the hot classic Corvette! Have a great weekend, and catch you at the next blog post!

Sweethearts on the Strip

Author: Elvee

To continue with our Las Vegas adventures, I had the opportunity to participate in a fun shooting workshop put on by San Diego photographer Stephen Knuth (that’s me in the bright green shirt in his blog post about the workshop).  For two hours we walked along the Strip and photographed newlywed couple Monique and Dustin, who were great models and ready to do anything!  They were a perfectly wonderful lovey-dovey couple to photograph.

I look at this shot and have to remind myself it was on the Las Vegas Strip instead of a quiet garden somewhere:vegas1a

They were totally relaxed in front of our 22 cameras, and I learned a lot from the session.  The other photographers participating came from all over the country, from New Jersey to North Carolina to California, and San Diego was well-represented! I’ll share one more photo from this session and up next will be Dustin’s Old Vegas session with the Photog Shootout group.  As always, thanks for stopping by and reading!

Home sweet home

So sorry to have been absent for a bit, friends. March just kind of snuck up on us and before we knew it, we were on our way to WPPI, *the* annual convention for wedding and portrait photographers in Las Vegas. (Cue the Elvis music here)  Leading up to the convention we knew there would be much to do and see, but we had NO idea.  The next few blog posts will be about WPPI and our experiences there.  After three days at the convention, we returned inspired, invigorated and excited to take Mai Tai Photography to another level!  Not only did we take classes and meet some new friends, but we participated in some cool shooting workshops, as well.  Photos from those sessions are forthcoming. :)   Meanwhile, I’ll share a few photos from our pit stop on the road to Las Vegas, at Calico ghost town.  It’s definitely worthy of a stop if you’re driving on I-15 from San Diego.

As I said, I’ll blog more about our Las Vegas adventure, including a sweetheart of a photo session on the Strip and another photoshoot involving a classic Corvette in “old” Vegas.  Until then, thanks for stopping by!
