Digging

Author: Elvee

One good thing about having to go through photo archives is that every so often you unearth a photo that maybe you glanced over the first time, but upon second look, you realize it’s something special.  Fortunately, in the process of building oula puertar online portfolio, I’ve had a few of those moments.  Technically these photos may not have made the cut for our portfolio, but they bring back great memories that needed to be brought out and dusted off.   Case in point is the photo to the right.  Doesn’t that frosty drink just make you want to go get a margarita right now?

To continue with this theme, I also found a few photos from a previous New Year’s celebration.  When I saw them, I knew my next blog post had to incorporate them somehow.  These photos reminded me of great times with friends and family, with much laughter and joy.

With a good portion of our photo archives examined, I am still super excited to start getting the word out about Mai Tai Photography!  Friends and family, be on the lookout for a very special e-mail offer from us.  We hope that with the upcoming holiday season, we’ll be seeing a lot of you, through the viewfinders of our cameras!

Until then,  please continue to check our blog for more news.  Now, back to the digital archives.  I am grateful that at least I’m not having to go back through negatives and printed photos!  See you soon.

Aloha!

Starting a new venture is scary, I have to admit.  But with the encouragement and support of the people we love, it’s also super exciting and rewarding.  I am pleased to personally welcome you to the Mai Tai Photography blog!

“Maita’i” means “good” in Tahitian, and for us, it evokes images of fun, carefree celebration.  Doesn’t a colorful, paper umbrella-topped fruity drink just call for laughter and good times?  Of course, for us it also brings to mind Hawai’i, the place that feels like our second home, where we were engaged, married and where we return year after year.

If Mai Tai Photography were a book, its dedication would be to one Susie Ghahremani, our generous, uber-talented friend and neighbor.  Her talent is no secret, as evidenced by the popularity of her website and shop, boygirlparty.com.    She is an artist by profession and the guiding force behind the creation of maitaiphotography.com. To you, dearest Susie, a million heartfelt thanks.

We had the privilege of shooting portraits of the lovely Susie and her new husband, Michael, just before their post-wedding celebration in La Jolla.  These are some of our favorites of the newly married couple.
